Interesting question, requires further investigation.
1) Are they wearing a space suit, or inside a shielded electrogravitic propulsion device.
OR
2) Are they genetically modified to shield solar particles with super improved hair to absorb and convert said particles to oxygen. They would also need to be self propelled maybe by gaseous excretions from the sphincter area.

Conclusion:
If answer is 1) yes space kittehs purr
If answer is 2) No because of the vacuum of space, as opening their mouth would make them implode.
If Neither space kittehs would be shredded by solar particles and would be nothing more than DNA floating with the currents of the solar winds or caught in the gravitational pull of a passing comet or near by planet.
