So you may have noticed that common swear words like sh**, fu**, etc. are now being automatically filtered out on the entire site... but when you're logged in there is a setting in your profile admin area to turn off the filtering.

So for those of you who don't mind the swearing you can be free to use whatever foul language you'd like... and those who prefer not to read it can continue to have it filtered.

*The filter was put in for a reason, please don't be creative with your letters and spelling to try and get around it.
** And don't over do the swearing just because there is a filter.

but can you download the palette and use it in illustrator?
i might be missing a huge point in all of this.
because i clicked the extension, cs or ai, and i dont know how to load it in my illustrator palette.

Not dumb at all, sweetie. Nobody's born knowing this stuff.

You need to find the folder on your hard disk where Illustrator is installed. Inside that there'll be a folder called "presets", and inside _that_ is one called "swatches". Your palettes go in there.

My dad doesn't like foul language.

Not the entire site. I noticed a ** this evening in a pattern, but the name was still uncensored in the latest palette and pattern columns.

A reminder:

Seems there are a lot of palettes, colors & patterns with *, [], _ etc. in the names replacing key letters in swear words... We have the swear filter in place so that those of you who want to name something with adult language don't need to censor yourselves... and so those who do not wish to see the adult language can have those words filtered out. I'd much prefer to have the community respect itself, rather than having to spend time moderating creative titles.

It's in the bad word filter, which gives it even more fishy factor.

We were just having a laugh. You can link perfectly fine to Kuler, we thought we'd just shoot them a little zinger when we were adding in the filter.

If we didn't want the competition, we'd just remove any mention of them... so it isn't that we don't want the competition... we just want to mess with them. ;)

(I come from a family where it is par for the course to have a laugh at the expense of your big brother.)

Thank You Darius !, For the swear filter, That iS the way it should be, making the world a bit better, respectfully. I know how it is to have the "big brother laugh ", I know they get their share at our "expense".... with a smile, of course....
