oh my gosh! I'm excited that my color study got recognized! Thank you!

I have an original stamp colour chart made for Stanley Gibbons in the 1930s. It may be slightly faded, but I tried to get a decent color from the 100 "stamps" on here. You may also search for retsof palettes starting with 1930s (without quotes).

There must be a character limit. I broke these up. Notice that these hues are lighter than the bright colors of today. Scarlet and crimson are DEFINITELY thought of now as very scalding colors.

This reminds me to continue. I have an original color name dictionary with printed color spots from 1930, and a revised edition with a home and garden supplement from 1950. The revised has more names, and the color printing was better in 1930, with spot ink colors....tough to do for 7200 choices.

Wow... I knew a lot of those! I guess it's from going through my word processor's thesaurus and looking up other words for the normal colors. ;o lawl.

Damask;; grayish pink-color
carmine;; deep red
lovat;; muted dusty mixture of green and yellow or green and blue
heliotrope;; bluish purple
